Croydon Neighbourhood Care Association provide a befriending service to elderly carers and families caring for an elderly relative, we are here to listen, encourage and support carers. The service is made up of home visits, weekly calls and a texting service and is the only one of its kind in the Borough of Croydon.

We offer a quality befriending service, for elderly frail people with complex needs and to those who are infirm vulnerable, isolated and housebound, with little or no face to face contact with people other than their formal carer.

Our clients are often people who regularly attended social groups such as the services our member and Neighbourhood groups provide, but due to declining health, they are no longer able to do so, but could benefit from one-to-one conversations and a point of contact in case their needs should change. We offer holistic support to clients who have extra needs, for example, they may require a advocacy or help accessing other service within the borough. Our service is unique in that we remain with a client for the duration of their life, or until our service is no longer need.

We are able to provide support to people who meet the following criteria:

  • Elderly vulnerable people with complex needs or carers of these people
  • Living alone and isolated
  • Must live in London Borough of Croydon
  • Housebound
  • Minimum of 65 years old
We cannot work with: Under 65s
  • Someone who doesn’t live in the London Borough of Croydon
  • Someone who already has sufficient support
  • Someone who is suitable for more appropriate services (PICS, Neighbourhood Care, Social Prescribing)

If you know someone who meets our criteria then please contact us on 020 8654 4440 or info@cnca.org.uk and we can start the formal referral process. This service is available from: Monday - Thursdays 09.30am - 16.00hrs.
