Croydon Neighbourhood Care
successfully supporting neighbourhoods through
partnerships & innovation

Croydon is fortunate in having a large diversity of different ethnic groups. It is estimated that at least 30% of the population in Croydon is from an ethnic minority.
BAME older poeple make up 12% of the total of Croydon’s elderly population. Over the last decade these numbers have increased and it is anticipated that they will dramatically increase over the coming decade.
In order to better meet the needs of the BAME community, we provide (in partnership with Croydon Council) an interpreting and translation service for older people whose first language is not English.
We aim to deliver accurate material that retains the meaning of the original communication.
We offer:
Interpreters for verbal communications (face-to-face or over the telephone)
Translators for written information
We can provide a service in most community languages, including sign language and braille. The interpreters are carefully selected for their qualifications, work record and experience.
